Why We Partner With the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing

For the past few years, we have been proud sponsors of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH) Annual Convention. By helping to sponsor this incredible non-profit, we're able to help ensure our Black Speech-Language and Hearing professionals have a community where they can get real-world advice and expertise from other industry professionals. Here are a few reasons we're proud partners with the NBASLH:

Founded by Black SLP's for Black SLP's

The National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing was founded in 1978 by a number of Black Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists from across the country. This groundbreaking group had the aim of establishing a viable system through which the needs of Black professionals, students, and the communicatively handicapped community could be met. As the premier professional and scientific association  addressing theses concerns, the NBASLH is a model for other organizations addressing the needs of diverse populations. Since its conception, the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing has been actively advocating for Black individuals with communication disorders and differences, while also helping to increase the number of Black speech, language, and hearing professionals. The NBASLH offers numerous resources including scholarships, licensing exam reviews, a mentorship program, an annual convention, and so much more.

They're Committed to Advocating For Black SLP's and the Communicatively Handicapped

When looking into the resources that The National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing provides, were ecstatic to find that there's truly a benefit for everyone! The NBASLH is actively working to promote research that contributes to the body of knowledge on the identification, diagnosis and treatment of Black individuals with communication disorders and differences; while also ensuring Black students studying communication sciences have the financial and professional support needed to be successful. Whether you're a student working on your degree looking for mentorship and exam resources, a seasoned professional with years of research under their belt, or an associate showing interest in the speech, language and hearing problems of Black people (like our amazing SLPA'S!), there's an incredible resource provided for you. By being a proud sponsor of the annual convention, we're able to help ensure that this amazing community can continue to make life-changing impacts on Black professionals and the communicatively handicapped.
