Why Healthcare Employers Need Traveling Therapists

When healthcare facilities experience a staffing shortage or a rapid increase in patient population, they rely on therapy staffing agencies to fill the gaps until permanent staff can be hired.

Staffing agencies fill the gaps for healthcare clients through travel contracts. Travel contracts are full-time jobs that come with full-time pay and benefits, relocation assistance, sometimes travel stipends, and CEU reimbursements (certain conditions apply, so ask your recruiter).

Travel contracts can range anywhere from 3 months and up, it just depends on the setting, location, and need.

We offer travel contracts in all of the following settings.

  • Hospitals
  • Outpatient clinics
  • Rehab facilities
  • Home health facilities
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Assisted living facilities

Healthcare employers in any setting may offer contracts for longer or shorter periods of time, it relies entirely upon the needs and preferences of the individual employers. The requirements to start work as a therapy traveler are no different than the requirements for a staff position - you just might have to pack a bag! Many travel contracts also offer temp to hire options.
